# Getting Started

## How You Access ZED

ZED Racing is embedded inside a partner casino. You launch it from your casino's games menu — there is no separate ZED account to create. Your partner casino account is your ZED account.

When you launch ZED for the first time:

1. The casino passes a secure launch token to ZED in the background.
2. ZED creates your player profile automatically using your casino identity.
3. You land on the Lobby and can start betting straight away.

**Tip.** Your balance, deposits, and withdrawals are all handled by your partner casino. ZED itself never holds funds — it just reads your balance and settles wagers.

## The Lobby at a Glance

The Lobby is your home screen. From here you can see:

* The live race currently playing out.
* The next-up race with odds and a countdown.
* A list of upcoming races you can pre-bet on.
* Your credit balance in the top right.
* Tabs for My Stable, Pack Store, Bet History, and Profile.

## First Steps

| Step | Action                                            |
| ---- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| 1 | Glance at your credit balance (top right). |
| 2    | Pick a race from the upcoming list.               |
| 3 | Tap a horse to see its odds and form. |
| 4 | Place a small Win or Place bet to learn the flow. |
| 5    | Watch the race play out.                          |

If you want to own horses, head to the Pack Store (see [Owning Horses](/owning-horses/09-owning-horses.md)).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://zed.gambitpro.com/overview/02-getting-started.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
